Denza has confirmed its Z9GT electric supercar will be touch down here in the third quarter of the year.

It will be the first model sold in Australia with BYD’s next-gen Blade Battery 2.0 technology and ultra-fast Flash charging which the company says will revolutionise EV charging.

With Flash and a Flash charger, the Z9GT can be charged from 10 to 97 per cent in "approximately nine minutes", charging at a maximum rate of up to 1500kW DC.

Flash charging sites are expected to become operational during the fourth quarter at selected Denza dealers in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

Under the China Light-duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) tests the Z9GT has a range of around 820km, or about 672km under the more widely accepted WLTP testing regime.

Z9GT rides on the brand’s new e3 platform which features a world-first three driving motors for unprecedented performance and manoeuvrability when it comes to parking.

With three electric motors, it is expected to deliver a power output of up to 850kW, with the dash from 0-100km/h taking a supercar-fast 2.7 seconds.

Z9GT will be the first vehicle to feature advanced DiSus-A air suspension, ensuring the Z9GT remains composed, confident and comfortable at all times – even if a tyre blows out.

Onboard software helps to manage a blowout in milliseconds at highway speeds by actively controlling power delivery, steering behaviour and braking -- all at the same time.

Head of design Wolfgang Egger describes the sculptured exterior and bespoke interior of the Z9GT as the culmination of a “creative university” involving more than 1200 designers and engineers from around the world.

Inside, the cabin delivers a distinctive interpretation of modern luxury, paying tribute to centuries of Chinese mastery in exquisite design and surface finish quality.

Highlights include premium Nappa leather, with massage, ventilation and extended leg rests, a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, Devialet premium audio, 128 colour  ambient lighting and even a built-in refrigerator.

Denza Australia's Mark Harland said the Z9GT lifts Denza on to the global stage as a leader in new-energy luxury performance.

“The Denza Z9GT proves that electrification can deliver not just efficiency, but exhilarating performance, extraordinary safety and genuine long-distance usability," he said.

“Australia is a market that demands performance without compromise, and the Z9GT has been engineered to meet or exceed expectations.”

Further details including price and specs will be revealed closer to launch.
