Hyundai's version of the Kia EV5 is set to land within the next few weeks.

The all-new Elexio slots between Kona Electric and the Ioniq 5 in terms of size, and boasts a range of 546km.

These three EVs are bracketed by the tiny Inster and larger Ioniq 9 at either end of the company's electric lineup.

Elexio will be available in a single well equipped variant Elite priced from $59,990 driveaway.

It is powered by a single electric motor that delivers 160kW of power and 310Nm of torque, with drive to the front wheels.

Built on a 400V E-GMP platform, the battery has a capacity of 88 kWh battery and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 38 minutes.

Energy consumption is a claimed 18.2 kWh/100km.

The name "Elexio" is reportedly derived from a combination of elements that suggest electric and excellence.

It reflects the vehicle's identity as a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and its aim to provide a superior driving experience.

All-new Elexio boldly showcases a futuristic style inside and out, with a sleek, minimalist layout and light bars at either end.

Generous interior space combines with intuitive technology to provide a practical and highly desirable family EV SUV.

“We’re excited to announce the addition of Elexio to our award-winning Hyundai SUV range,” Hyundai's Gavin Donaldson said.

“Elexio will offer an ideal blend of size, space, efficiency and value-for-money when it arrives early next year.

"We look forward to welcoming more Australians to the Hyundai SUV family, while continuing Hyundai’s ongoing commitment to electrification and intelligent mobility solutions.”
