Fastback MG7 poised to turn heads

MG Motor has added a sporty mid-size fastback to the lineup called the MG7.

Powered by a 2.0L turbo-charged petrol engine it delivers sporty refinement with intelligent technology and unmistakable style, precision and presence.

“Set to be a definitive challenger in its class, MG Motor has taken timeless design cues and wrapped them around a stiff, high-quality chassis, dripping with tech, premium finishes and fun features” MG's Kevin Gannon said.

“Driving is meant to be fun, and your car makes a statement. The MG7’s striking silhouette, quad pipes and rewarding interior is our way of letting local drivers know what you drive can still express who you are.”

MG7 features double-pane frameless glass doors, a deployable active rear spoiler and quad tailpipes.

The 2.0-litre turbo produces 170kW power and 380Nm torque through a nine-speed automatic transmission, electronic limited slip differential and 19-inch alloys wrapped in 245/40 profile Michelin rubber.

Available in one adaptable and well-equipped trim, MG7 enters the scene in emerald green offering outstanding value at $44,990 plus on-road costs.

Premium paint is $695 extra and so is the Bordeaux Red suede-like trim.

There's also head up display, enhanced exhaust sound, electronic suspension, X-mode performance and an adaptive three-stage electric rear spoiler.

Other features include soft touch materials, dual zone auto climate control, six-way power adjust driver seat and panoramic sunroof, with audio supplied by a Bose 14-speaker system.

Infotainment is supplied in the form of a 12.3-inch colour touchscreen, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360 degree camera, satellite navigation and head up Display (HUD) as standard.

The MG7 is designed to meet 5-star ANCAP safety with its full suite of seven air bags, MG Pilot Safety, driver aids and high-strength materials.
