Toyota’s GR Yaris has received a makeover, with the addition of the Aero Performance Pack for the flagship GTS.

The Pack takes the price of the six-speed manual to $64,990 but brings multiple upgrades inspired by involvement in professional rallying and Super Taikyu racing.

It starts with a large cooling duct and grille on the hood, which helps to discharge heat from the engine compartment.

The duct helps keep the 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine cooler when driving at high speeds.

A large, manually adjustable rear spoiler has been fitted, aiding in high-speed handling and braking stability depending on the angle.

At the front, a new lip spoiler has been developed which helps to suppress vehicle lift, enhancing handling.

Front fender ducts located between the front wheels and doors help expel accumulated rearward air from the wheelhouse to improve steering feel under heavy braking while also making the car more stable when entering corners.

Ducts have also been added either side of the rear bumper which provides smoother airflow under the car.

New underfloor covering further improves air flow under the vehicle to contribute to enhanced aerodynamics.

The Aero Performance Package is available on the GTS grade only, which features a Torsen limited-slip differential, high-performance suspension, red GR brake calipers and 18-inch forged alloys shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

All versions of the GR Yaris are powered by the G16E-GTS 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 221kW of power and 400Nm of torque.

Like the rest of the range, the GTS Aero Performance Package can be paired with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, which delivers power to all four wheels via an adjustable full-time all-wheel-drive system with selectable AWD modes.
