Skoda is delivering its most powerful and best-equipped Octavia RS ever, with the upgraded performance sedan and wagon arriving in March priced at $58,490 and $59,990 respectively (both plus on road costs).

Now with 195kW from its 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the 7-speed DSG-equipped Skoda connects its 19-inch wheel and tyre package and front differential lock (electrically actuated mechanical limited-slip differential) with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) as standard for the first time.

This significant upgrade to the fourth-generation Octavia RS allows the roomy family sedan and wagon to accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in 6.4 and 6.5 seconds respectively.

New equipment (beyond an additional 15kW and DCC) includes standard regular metallic paint, 13-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, fast 15-watt wireless charging with active ventilation, Intelligent Park Assist, Area View camera, and a heated steering wheel/windshield.

With 80 percent of Australian customers selecting the Premium Pack (formerly a $6600 option), it becomes standard – including DCC, heated front and rear outboard seats, 12-speaker Canton audio system, head-up display, tri-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats with massage and memory functions, plus passenger mirror tilt-in-reverse and memory function.

Compared with the outgoing Skoda Octavia RS with Premium Pack, the price has been reduced by $1270 (wagon) to $1470 (sedan).

Yet the total value of the new inclusions totals $9415 (Skoda figures).

Skoda product manager Glenn Reid said the Octavia RS continues to be the go-to choice for Australian families wanting the ideal blend of space and performance.

“Skoda continues to be a ‘unique service provider’ of attainable and intelligent medium-sized passenger cars with the Octavia, and the RS likewise delivers as a fast sedan or wagon like no other model in the market,” Mr Reid said.

“Now with 195kW of power and more than $9000 in additional features and technologies, the latest Octavia RS is both more dynamic than ever and better value.”

Skoda Octavia RS colours include Candy White Solid, Mamba Green Solid, Moon White Metallic, Brilliant Silver Metallic, Graphite Grey Metallic, Black Magic Pearlescent, Race Blue Metallic -- and a single premium metallic option – $770 Velvet Red.
