Ford has come up with a new name for yet another special edition Ranger.

Tremor follows in the tracks of Wildtrak X, with with up to 1150 units priced from $69,690.

Deliveries are expected to begin in September.

Ford's Ambrose Henderson said Tremor takes the highlights of Wildtrak X and combines them with the Sport series, resulting in a more budget-friendly off-road warrior that’s ready-to-go for the adventures that hard-working Aussies love.

Ranger Tremor is powered by a 150kW/500Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine and 10-speed automatic transmission.

Like Wildtrak X, this driveline requires the use of AdBlue diesel exhaust fluid.

Tremor features a full-time four-wheel drive (4WD) system, including 4A mode, and benefits from the innovative Trail Turn Assist3 feature that allows the vehicle to manoeuvre around the tightest off-road turns with ease.

Off-roading capability is further enhanced with the inclusion of a Rock Crawl drive mode, and Ford’s Trail Control – like off-road cruise control.

Tremor has all the features of the Sport Double-Cab 2.0-litre bi-turbo 4x4 model, plus the following:

  • Tremor features Ford’s advanced full-time 4WD system instead of the part-time ‘shift on the fly’ 4x4 system
  • Maximum Braked Towing Capacity: 3500kg
  • 17-inch Asphalt Black Alloy Wheels, General Grabber AT3 All-Terrain Tyres, wheel arch mouldings, 30mm increased track width
  • Off-road suspension & steering:
    • Bilstein position-sensitive dampers with external reservoirs
    • New springs that, in conjunction with the tyres, deliver 26mm in total additional ground clearance
    • Heavy Duty EPAS (Electronic Power Assisted Steering) gear with shielding
  • Tremor badging and styling, including 3D tailgate badging, Tremor-embossed seats, front and rear black Ford oval badges, and availability of the Conquer Grey hero colour
  • Overhead Auxiliary Switch Bank for fitment of aftermarket accessories
  • Honeycomb grille with auxiliary grille LED lights
  • Front steel bash plate
  • Cast aluminium side steps
  • Long-legged sports bar
  • Tremor branded all-weather front and rear floor mats
  • Trail Turn Assist: When enabled off-road and at low speeds, this feature reduces the vehicle’s turning radius by applying brakes to the inside rear wheel, when navigating tight bends or turning in narrow areas
  • Trail Control: Also available on Raptor, this feature lets the driver focus on steering during off-road and low-speed use by controlling the vehicle’s acceleration and braking to maintain a set speed
  • Rock Crawl Drive Mode: Similar to Raptor, this drive mode provides optimal slow-speed traction and momentum on loose and rocky surfaces.
