Great Wall has expanded its range of utes with a cab-chassis version called the Cannon CC.

Available in dual cab form only, CC swaps its tub for an aluminium tray that's likely to grab the attention of tradies and farmers alike.

Priced from $36,990 it comes in 4x2 and 4x4 configuration, with two grades for the 4x4 version.

Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbo diesel that produces 120kW of power and 400Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifts.

Combined fuel economy is 8.4L/100km for 4x2 or 9.4L/100km for the 4x4.

Tow capacity is 3000kg and it can tote a payload of 1130kg.

If you don't like white, silver or grey are a $595 option.

Width and height remain the same but the tray sees the length of the vehicle increase by 101mm.

The tray itself is 1730mm in length by 1855mm in width by 235mm in depth.

The new GWM Ute Cannon-CC range is available in three different variants, all with attractive ABN pricing.

Standard features include air conditioning and synthetic leather seats, 18-inch alloys, active cruise control, keyless entry and push-button start, LED headlights and tail lights, daytime running lights, side steps, rear parking sensors, 9.0-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety extends to seven airbags, rear-view camera and autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian and bicycle detection.

There's also a passenger side kerb-view camera, traffic sign recognition with over-speed warning and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The upmarket Cannon-L CC adds:

• Leather steering wheel

Cannon-CC is backed by a 7-year/unlimited km warranty, 5-years roadside assistance and 5-year capped price servicing.

The 4x2 is priced from $36,990 driveaway ($35,490 with ABN), the 4x4 is $39,990 ($38,490 with ABN) and the 4x4 L is $43,490 ($41,990 with ABN).
